The community is located close to large state parks and nature preserves that offer even more outdoor entertainment. Lake Ridge is also within a short drive of several large shopping malls.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

The Oasis at Joe Pool Lake offers delicious fresh seafood, steaks, chicken, sandwiches, salads, and signature cocktails in a striking spot perched on the Joe Pool Lake shoreline. The Oasis’ covered patio and upstairs Lake View Room both provide magnificent waterfront views. The Oasis also has regular live music and other special events.

On the Southeast Parkway near Texas State Highway 360, Orchid City Fusion Café combines classic Southern cooking with global influences. The menu at Orchid City features gourmet burgers made from 100% Premium Sirloin Angus beef, plus seafood specialties like fresh seasonal crawfish, succulent snow crab legs, boiled shrimp, and mouthwatering oysters. Follow Highway 360 to the city of Mansfield on the south side of Joe Pool Lake for some of DFW’s best breakfast and lunch plates at 360 Brunch House.

The Parks Mall at Arlington is one of the premier shopping destinations in the DFW Metroplex area. The Parks features more than 170 retailers and entertainment options, including a kids’ play area, an AMC movie theater, and an NHL-size ice skating rink. Lake Ridge is also close to many more shopping and dining options at the Hillside Village shopping center in Cedar Hill and the recently redeveloped Lakeridge Village shopping center.

Things to Do

Tangle Ridge Golf Course is a challenging 18-hole championship golf course in the heart of the Lake Ridge community. The golf course features gently rolling hills and dramatic elevation changes.

Residents also enjoy recreation on the lake and in the adjacent 1,826-acre Cedar Hill State Park. This sprawling natural area features a 12-mile mountain bike trail and historic farm buildings comprising the Penn Farm Agricultural History Center. There are also hundreds of campsites, areas for picnics and barbeques, a marina, a boat ramp, and a fishing jetty on Joe Pool Lake.

Lester Lorch Park has an 86-acre nature preserve featuring a gorgeous landscape of trees, creeks, and meadows. Lester Lorch Park is also home to Beaver Disc Golf Course. Five other parks are located within the Lake Ridge community, each containing several sports facilities and plenty of outdoor recreation space.
